Biographical Sketch

I retired after 36 years of U.S. Government service as Head of Collection Access at the National Library of Medicine (NLM). In this role I was responsible for the circulation of medical and scientific materials to physicians, libraries, Congress and others. I supervised Government employees and contractors as well as first-line government supervisors. NLM is the premier institution of medical and scientific materials in the world.  Working with government colleagues and contractors we improved electronic identification of documents and improved the accuracy and speed of circulation of medical and scientific information to institutions worldwide.

I received my BA with High Honor from American International College in Massachusetts and my MLS from the State University of New York at Albany.

My wife and I became resident owners in the Willoughby in 1995.   As such we have appreciated all the benefits offered by Willoughby; excellent staff, the amazing pool in the summer, and I am a daily user of the ever-improving gym.  We try to be good citizens of our building attending Willoughby Board meetings and assisting when asked.

I served on the Willoughby Gym Committee before it was disbanded.  I served on the Election Committee in 2017 and again in 2018. I was a Budget Committee member for the 2017 – 2018 budget year and Chair of that Committee for the 2018 – 2019 budget year. I was also a member of the Committee that created the current 2021 – 2022 budget.

Platform and Campaign Pledge

I look forward to working with the Willoughby Board to further enhance all aspects of life in the building while always being mindful of expenses, processes and services.   While continuing to be very concerned for everyone’s wellbeing during this pandemic, there are a number of projects the Willoughby has in process, I would like to help move these projects forward, the fire alarm project, lobby enhancements, improve access for disabled residents, following-up on the work done by the various task forces, as well as new projects that will arise.  My primary concerns will be resident and staff safety during this pandemic and fiscal responsibility.  As much as anyone else, I’d like to maintain our condo fees at the lowest levels possible!

I favor programs and projects that improve our environment and quality of life, including technologies that provide transparency and access to all.
